There was a good turnout mostly from the mums of our colts players although some of the mums brought friends with them as much for moral support than a real desire to play cricket. Coaches Peter Seaman, Graham Taylor and Dave Lawrence had the unenviable task of turning 20 enthusiastic ladies into a lean mean cricket machine.
Quite a task you may say, and you may be right. The training has been very rewarding and great fun for all concerned as all the ladies had a real desire to learn. They even managed to listen to all they were told in between a great deal of laughing and gossiping.
After a couple of weeks John Metselaar joined the coaching team and added his special blend of coaching.
