After some comfortable wins over the hosts, Pakistan and South Africa, Sri Lanka posted 127 in their 5 overs against the red hot favourites the All-Stars, containing such greats as Shane Warne, Brian Lara, Anil Kumble and Heth Streak.
Kash smashed 32 and had to retire to the pavilion as thats the rules and the Sri Lankas managed to restrict the Superstars to just 111.

Club Dinner 29th Sept Go> Saturday’s victory over Congratulations must go to captain Greg Hodge and his side on this excellent achievement, which means that the club’s 2nd X1 are officially ranked as the best 2nd X1 in Hertfordshire as confirmed by the final league tables. A full end of season report will soon follow from the victorious skipper upon his return from his well earned holiday in Due to the appalling weather we experienced last weekend, the County Cup semi final tie between Potters Bar CC and Knebworth Park CC due to have been played on Sunday, 19th August, was postponed. The reserve date (initially insisted on by the organisers of the competition) is Sunday, 26th August. Clearly this drastically affects my President's day plans! Rather than cancel my day, I have decided to invite everyone to an informal buffet lunch at the club commencing at around 1pm. There will be no formal speeches and everyone is welcome to watch what should be an exciting game of competitive cricket commencing at 12.30pm. There is no need to reply to this invitation as it is an "open house" event and I have invited all supporters and friends of our club to attend the informal lunch. Hopefully the caterers will be able to manage, but in order to avoid disappointment please don't arrive too late. Due to the difficult situation with the weather I believe this is the best "salvage job" I can do. Hopefully many of you will still be able to attend and enjoy the day. Apologies for the rearrangements, I look forward to seeing you on the day. Ian Breeze (President PBCC) >Adam Titmus has been selected for the U14 East Middx team and Luke Jupp has been selected for the U10 team. Good luck to both in the games they play in August. > COUNTY CUP QUARTER FINAL > COUNTY CUP 2ND ROUND NEWS After the 9 wicket win over Division 2 side Totteridge, the 1s have another Division 2 side to play in the 2nd Round of their defence of the County Cup. The boys will entertain local side Cockfosters, who recently had a 5 wicket success over the 2nd XI and will be looking to complete a Potters Bar double. The last time we played Cockfosters in a Cup Competition was last April in the National, where Potters Bar won by 5 wickets. The match is due to take place at The Walk on Sunday 1st July and all support will be greatly appreciated. **Great News for the Colts section***George Scott & Dan Bateson are playing for the Herts U11 team. The team is expected to be; - J Norman, D Breeze, J Pett, D Rock +, K Weeraratne, G Baker, Y Hussain, D Pett*, M John, D Brown and G Hodge. The other sides in the group are Bentley Heath and Old Owens and those games will take place in the near future. The winners of the group will go through to a knockout stage and then the Middlesex finals day at a venue to be decided. >5TH ELEVEN FIXTURE CHANGE - JUNE 23 Due to Hoddesdon 4s pulling out of Division 13, Stevenage have filled the vacant slot and on June 23 Potters Bar 5's will now host Stevenage 5s down the school. > Kash stars in Sri Lankan 20/Twenty Cup Potters Bar overseas star Kash Weeraratne played a major part in his club Ragama winning the National 20/Twenty competition which has been held over the last 10 days. After a slow start, Kash finally announced himself on the competition in the final group game against Nondescripts where he made 33* off of 19 balls and saw the tail home to qualify for the semi finals against the Tamil Union. In the semi final, chasing 149 for victory and coming in at 35 for 4, technically 5 down as the opener had to retire hurt, needing 114 to win with just 79 balls remaining, Kash blazed the ball to all parts and made a man of the match 76* off of 40 balls (5-6's, 3-4s) and qualified for the final with 7 balls remaining. His 50 came in just 28 balls. The final was a procession and Ragama made a massive 237-6 against the Saracens Sports Club with again Kash taking the attack to all and sundry as his 45 off 17 balls (3-6's, 5-4's) demoralised the oppo. Their 126 a/o total enabled Ragama to win the limited overs title by a massive 111 run margin. Here's to Kashie continuing his fine form of late when he arrives back in the UK in time for the start of the upcoming season. > County Cup draw Released The draw has at last been a little kinder to the boys in what was formerly known as the Becker Transport Cup, which we are of course the current holders. The boys have drawn Division 2 newcomers Totteridge (away) in Round 1 on 3rd June. Should we come through that game we will entertain the winners of the Berkhamstead / Cockfosters game on July 1. > Herts League Fixtures completed The list for the 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s have now been released and they can be found on the 2007 results pages. Please note that on May 19, the 3s are playing at The Walk due to both the 1s and 2s both being away that day. Lets hope the sun shines for the boys! > Cockspur Cup Drawn Potters Bar have to travel again in this competition and its a trip to Division One side Bishops Stortford on April 29. Should the boys beat them, then they face another trip to the Herts / Essex borders a fortnight later and a trip to Essex Premier side Saffron Walden > 1st XI League Fixtures Released Potters Bar have been given a hard start to their 2007 Home Counties League Division 2 East campaign. The boys start off at home to West Herts, who were relegated from the top league and then travel to arch rivals Welwyn Garden City and Sawbridgeworth > Evening Standard Trophy Draw Yet again the draw could have been kinder as the boys have been drawn away to Osterley (who play in Iver just outside Uxbridge) in Round 1 on Sunday May 6. Should the boys progress to Round 2, we have a home tie against Esher on June 10. > Colts Winter Nets >GO Potters Bar are the new and final holders of the Becker Cup.
