PATRICK BROWNE IN FULL WEST INDIES DEBUT

It was with great pride to see that Patrick Browne finally received his West Indies debut in the 3rd One Day International against South Africa at Port Elizabeth on Sunday (27th Jan 2008.)

Pat, in for the injured Shivnarine Chanderpaul batted beautifully and showed his class as he made 35 from 54 balls in a West Indies total of 252 for 7 from 50 overs.

The stylish right hander shared a 75-run stand with Sewnarine Chattergoon as the Windies slowly started to build a total.  During his stay, Patrick struck Shaun Pollock for 6 over extra cover and Charl Langerveldt played go fetch as Pat dispatched him with a trademark pick up shot over square leg.

All at Potters Bar send their congratulations and hope this is the first of many more caps for the Barbados star who was our pro back in 2004.

Patrick BrownePROUD MOMENT. A grand occasion for Barbados wicketkeeper/batsman Patrick Browne in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He not only made his One-Day International debut and received his West Indies cap from manager Clive Lloyd, but also got the opportunity to bat at No.3 and scored a solid 35. But his start was dampened somewhat by another West Indies defeat. Above, Browne receiving his cap from Clive Lloyd (right) while other members of the team look on.
