Coach Mark Ilott Mark writes: Just to put you in the picture with the Under 11's this coming season. It is my intention to give as many colts as possible a good game on at least 2-3 occasions. I will try my hardest to attend as many colts sessions as possible and also be the umpire/manager for as many games as possible, however, due to work committments this may not always be easy so I will ask many of you to help out with travel arrangements and scoring/umpiring until I am able to turn up.
Last season the U11's were a particularly strong side with much success although this was often at the expense of many other players in the team. The children will always want to compete therefore it is only natural that many of the more experienced players will be involved more often but as the manager of this year's U11 side winning will NOT be everything to me. I want the boys to come away from this year having enjoyed the season and having learnt how to play as a team and accept both victory and defeat with dignity, as well as hopefully learning more technical skills for cricket.
If your child is batting down the order and you feel that he should be higher he WILL get a chance to bat higher (or bowl sooner) so I ask that you stand by my decision and please support your team.

Last bit of housekeeping, Timmy Richards will be this year's U11 Captain with Freddie Scutt acting as his Vice-Captain. They will be responsible for all on-field decisions albeit with some guidance from me when required. I'm not sure the legalities of Umpires/Manager's being able to help on the field but I will ask/recommend to the opposition manager that he/I are allowed to help out occasionally.
