Potters Bar 173 for 4 (Aditya Mehta 102 N.O. Jesal Tailor 51)
Edmonton 141 for 9 (Matt Hart 2for 28, Aditya Mehta 2 for 24)
Won by 32 runs
A fine century by Aditya well backed up by Jessie Tailor was the feature of a formidable score by the Under 17s.
Despite bizarre field placing and some interesting catching we managed to hold them to 141 winning the game by 32 runs.Aditya and Matt Hart took 2 wickets and Steve Brown got a wicket and Neil Oak and Sam Titmus were conspicuous in their runningf down of lost causes in the field
Dave Potters Bar 130 for 6 (Jesal Tailor 38 n.o, Aditya Mehta 20, Steve Brown 17 Lost by 3 wickets. (Actually 2 as both sides only had 10) We should have got more runs but were probably 20 short. No one played a major innings! Other than Aditya the bowlers were far too erratic and Tom Pett was used too late. David Fennell and Isaac Moore both fielded excellently which reflects well on the Under 13 management team. They show great promise!
A very close defeat however, considering that we had 1 Under 11 and 3 Under 13s playing the side was very competitive. Enfield made 139 for 3 with Jesal Tailor taking 2 for 24. A special mention must be made of Adam Titmus, Rupert Seaman and Joe Skinner in the field who did excellently. Joe also looked the part when he bowled and the Club appears to have a rosy future with youngsters such as these. We made a good fist of the reply with Ravi Vijh making 40, Jesal Tailor 23 and Matt Hart 34 but finished on 128 for 6. The absence of 3 regular players showed in the depth but if 1 of the openers had batted through we could well have won the game.
